Hi Alosha,
I’m getting to the top of my dome. In hindsight would you consider just completing the dome and then cutting out for the skylight and windows?
Hi Kathy I would not cut out the window . I know dome gaia did it I think they might have supported it with plenty strong cloth. Sky light yes you could just cut it out as everything will rest with inwards pressure and they bricks can not go anywhere but lean on each other.
I feel if the windows is small no problem maybe on your 3 m dome half metre window should be just fine to gut out. Bigger one could pop out. thats why we did a cylinder as it acts like a buttress. Cal earth taught be to buttress all openings out of the dome
What if you don’t want a skylight at the top? How would you finish off the top of the dome? Would you simply cover the enclosed top with a cap of some sorts to make sure it is sealed?
